About Sharon

Hi! I’m Sharon L. Tasman, and I have been a technology and business transaction attorney for more than 25 years, including 15 years at one of the world’s largest law firms. I have worked on more than $6 BILLION in deals for clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 25 corporations.

I have seen first-hand the range of problems that happen to businesses - no matter the size - when they do not have a solid plan to identify and protect their valuable ideas and property, or contracts to make sure that client engagements are defined and profitable.

Contracts often take a back seat when a business is new, or scaling up fast, because people feel they need to focus all of their attention and financial resources elsewhere. They either sign whatever a client or a vendor puts in front of them, or they download whatever they can find on the Internet and hope it is good enough. However, in neither of those situations are the contracts drafted in a way that really protects you or your business.

Female and minority-owned businesses are especially vulnerable because of the deep-rooted business patriarchy that has consumed the business world for years. I started the HTBiz Law to be able to help female and minority professional services providers, consultants, coaches and other entrepreneurs get it right the first time in a cost-efficient manner.

I truly believe that every business person should be able to afford essential contracts - not just wealthy corporations or male-enteprises. After 25 years in business, I can tell you that it is always far more costly to try in the future to go back and fix problems that could have been avoided in the beginning.

Through investing in simple steps now, such as (1) properly setting up your business to protect your personal assets, (2) conducting an assessment to identify your valuable business ideas, tools and other intellectual property, (3) protecting those valuable ideas when meeting with prospective clients, and (4) ensuring your client engagement agreements don't unexpectedly force you into a cycle of endless re-dos for no extra compensation, you can save valuable time - and money - later.

With training provided via online video courses, and downloadable template agreements you can easily customize for your business, the HTBiz Law can help you maximize your value, time and revenue.
